the heat....

OMG!! Is already almost end of September.. why is it still so hot!!

These are the times where i appreciate working in an office, i almost waited for the sun to set everyday before going home..

This has always been my favorite dessert ever (beside Ben & Jerry Ice cream)!

Is a very local dessert named "Ice Kachang"!

Is a good way to beat the heat (beside hiding in a shopping mall or the cinema.. hmmm.. oh well, i guess hiding in a shopping mall is a much better idea.. heheh).. =)

Anyway, If you ever were to visit Singapore, this is a must try!

over the weekend

Over the weekend, i went shopping with my mum, sister and nephew.

It was so much fun!! ^^

My sister has not tried this Juchheim German cake before, so i bought one for her to try and of course, one for myself ourselves.. heheh..

It is very soft and not so sweet, perfect for a lazy afternoon tea break!

My mum has a soft spot for popcorns, especially Garrett popcorns !!

Her favorite are the caramel ones, but i find it too sweet, my favorite are the cheese ones coz i sooo LOVE CHEESE.. Cheese has got to be one of the best food ever discovered!!

So we bought a chicago mix! Best of both worlds! ^^

Table Runner

Foremost i would like to apologise for the poor pictures, all these are taken from my iphone, because i have forgotten to bring my camera home..
I bought these lovely fabric - Silent Cinema by Jenean Morrison last year.
Initially i had plans to make them into cushion covers, but since our house are not ready,
that will just have to wait..

BUT, still i couldn't resist playing with the lovely fabric..

I figure i need a pattern that will best show the pretty design..
This pattern is simple, and so so so easy to cut n sew..

I almost feel a little sad that it finishes up way too fast.. = )

I use fabric by denyse schmidt as the backing. This design tends to grow on me..

Reminds me of some prints on Indian Sarees.

Now, i'm having a hard time deciding how should i quilt it..

Shall I just shadow each block or should i quilt straight lines across..

Any suggestions?

Is been a long time..

i've not been blogging for a really long time.. ermmm.. the last date post is dec! OMG! (0_o)"

there has really been too many going on.. let me do a list of 100 recaps.. too long?

okay, a short 12 recaps will do for the missing half a year and lotsa pictures..

1) Busy slogging myself out at my job, working in office, at home, in office, at home..
    14hours a day, 7days a week.. this explain, why i have been missing from all over the  

    place for the first quarter of the year..

2) started a new job (yes again..) in April 2012..
    so i can make more time for my Skylar, Sewing, Family, Sewing, Friends, Sewing,  

    Sleeping, Sewing... i think you get the picture.. = ) 

3) Sewing has been a bit challenging, staying in Skylar's parent's house after our        wedding, mainly due to space constraint.. thus, very little sewing has been done.. 
   we are still trying to work it out. :)

4) Went on a short trip with our travelling buddies to Bangkok, Thailand in April.
    Enjoy ourselves tremendously.. spend the days eating yummy food, shopping, massage, 

    eating, shopping, massage.. eating, shopping, massage.. 

5) Upgrade the software of my iphone 4, did not back up properly, so now i have a 

   "brand new phone" with only 37contacts list and 9.5GB available space!! 

    

   Cons : All my precious photos and videos of my nephews, nieces, skylar, wedding and 

             new projects all went "poof".. this explain the lack of photos in this blog 

   Pros : now i can access new apps and the internet loading speed is a lot faster. LOL

6) Skylar set up a new website for me, to sell my finished products.. 

    (so that i will stop expanding my "territory storage space" into his side of the cabinet)

7) Sewing up a storm of drawstring bags and sanitary purse to sell at flea market and list in our website

8) Completed a reversible handcarry bag for my elder sister and a knitting needle pouch
    for her friend's daughter. By the way, my elder sister is fantastic in knitting! ^^

9) Went on a flea market in July, the left side of the table are all my handmade goodies
     and the right side are all my stock which i import in years ago..

10) PAUL open their restaurant in Singapore! The last time we had one of their yummy
     pastry was back in July 2010 when we were in Taiwan for a holiday! how time flies..
     miss all yummy food and great shopping in Taiwan!

     Our travelling buddies and us just bought our air tickets to Taiwan, next year May!

12) Skylar bought me an Instant camera, with really cute Miffy films! Love it!!

my first tote bag

Can you spot the difference between Design 1 and Design 2? Hehehe..

Yes! You are right! I sew up the sides to make it more boxy shape.

I completed this Tote Bag over the weekends, took a picture (design 1) and used it yesterday to put my stuff for my Pilates class. But it just didn’t feel right.

It is too “shapeless” and soft for a handheld tote bag, so i rush home after work

(skipping my pilates class) and sew up the sides, and there, it is so much better both to look and to hold now.. hee! It is also roomy enough to carry all my stuff for a sleepover at Skylar’s house tonight.

Skylar’s mum have been wrapping up a storm of dumplings!!

I have been eating them whole week long! The one that I like best is Nonya Dumpling. 

Tonight Skylar and I will be going to the movies to watch “X-Men First Class”. 
Can’t wait! Hee!

Has anyone watch it? Anyway good?
